We have been selling fine diamonds for over thirty years. Upon graduation from NC State University in 1977 with a BA in Business Management, A. Scott Rhodes received his Graduate Diamond degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in 1979. He attained the title of American Gem Society Registered Jeweler in 1981. He spent twelve years as the jewelry appraiser at his father’s firm, Albert F. Rhodes Jewelers. He was also the diamond grader and buyer there. As a result, he has developed a network of trusted diamond cutters and dealers specializing in superior diamonds, advantageously priced.

We do not maintain a large loose diamond inventory for several reasons. Normally, customers are looking for a specific stone. Our cutter’s inventories are a phone call away and can be here the next business morning. We have found that instead of tying up tens of thousands of dollars in diamond inventory, we can utilize our supplier’s goods as our own, and work on thinner margins. Because we are a small store, our overhead is low. It just makes sense that we can, and will, beat the prices found in large stores. Tell us what you would like to see and we will supply a diamond selection for your perusal, with no obligation.

We maintain a large selection of in-house estate and brokerage diamonds. These diamonds represent excellent value, priced well below replacement cost. We specialize in brokering large diamonds of fine grade, many in their original platinum mountings. Please call for an updated inventory, as it changes frequently. If you are interested in a large diamond, call soon since they are normally the first to sell.

Our diamonds are of high cutting quality or “make” and are usually accompanied with GIA diamond grading certificates that specify cutting quality, color grade, and clarity grade. Additionally, you will receive an appraisal from our firm noting grading nomenclature, mounting description, and replacement cost. We encourage you to let us twice yearly clean and inspect your ring at no cost to you.

We specialize in custom made mountings, most in platinum, and we take pride in our superior work. Be assured that your engagement ring from A. Scott Rhodes will be cherished for generations to come.
